Display screen with realistic haptic feedback brings a new touch experience

In recent years, with the development of computer technology and the Internet, the e-commerce (E-Commerce) business model has been born and innovated. It digitizes and networks traditional business activities, allowing transactions to be conducted on the Internet. In addition, the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic has changed global consumption and communication patterns, and the demand for remote access to goods and services of interest has increased significantly. Although browsing products on a display screen brings a lot of convenience, it also raises issues such as product reliability. For example, consumers often cannot obtain sufficient tactile information simply by browsing product pages, resulting in a gap between expectations and actual products, which affects consumers' shopping confidence.
The display screen exhibited by our team not only provides users with visual feedback, but also reproduces the texture information of objects. The tactile feedback device is designed with context in mind. Through special electrostatic force and mechanism design, users can explore the texture of objects while seeing them on the display screen, enhancing the immersive experience. Users can slide their fingers left and right on the display screen to touch virtual objects and experience the texture of objects in a way that is close to exploring objects in the real world. User test results show that the tactile resolution exceeds 85%, reflecting that most users can successfully distinguish objects with different textures through the device, and believe that this tactile feedback screen that combines vision and touch has a certain degree of tactile reproduction realism.
