演講大綱:

MicroLED is regarded as a spotlight for the next generation of display technology and they can be applied to panels with different sizes: small and medium size panels and TV size panels. However, there are still some unsolved technological barriers before putting it into mass production, such as Mass Transfer, Current Control and Rework Process.

While overcoming those barriers of MicroLED, MiniLED display has been suggested as an intermediate solution and a predecessor to MicroLED in terms of technological evolution. The following presentation will introduce how the MiniLED display can be leveraged as a high volume production runner for next generation of display technology.

演講大綱:

To satisfy demand for color gamut expanding, Micro LED or OLED will become mainstream. But luminance and chromaticity uniformity and mura are inevitable phenomenon. Our world first absolute 2D spectroradiometer SR-5000 is the perfect tool for defect finding, analysis and material development for Micro LED . Also SR-5000H is higher grade hybrid model built in 2D spectral filter and XYZ filter. This versatile model enables to fulfill lower luminance level up to 0.005 cd/m2 and minimize the site space in one unit. It will make high productivity and quality on every scene of Micro LED.

郭浩中 (Hao-Chung Kuo)現為國立交通大學光電工程系特聘教授,美國光學學會會士(OSA Fellow)、國際工程技術學會會士(IET Fellow) 、國際光學工程學會(SPIE Fellow),臺灣地區國科會國家能源計畫固態照明項目主任(The Director of the Solid State Lighting of the National Energy Project, National Science Council, Taiwan of China)。基於其在光學領域的卓越成就與貢獻,郭浩中教授2011 年榮耀當選美國光學學會會士(the OSAFellow)。郭浩中教授同時擔任臺灣地區國家能源計畫—— 納米國家型計畫主持人(2009-),臺灣地區經濟部技術處審查委員 (2010-),IEEE Photonics Taipei Chapter 副主席,美國電氣電子工程師學會(IEEE)高級會員,IEEE JSTQE-special issue in SSL 和 Journal of Lightwave Technology 期刊副主編。郭浩中教授多次在IEEE/OSA CLEO, IEEE-Asia-Pacific Conference of Microwave Photonics , IEEE-International Conference of Microwave Photonics 和Wide-bandgap Semiconductors, Electrochemical Society meeting Fall meeting國際會議中擔任會議主席或召集人 (Organization Committee OR Co-chairs)。

演講大綱:

In this study, the full-color emission RGB quantum dot (QD)-based micro-LED array by the use of aerosol jet printing technology has been demonstrated. The method that was used to spray the quantum dots in such tight space is called Aerosol Jet technology which uses atomizer and gas flow control to obtain uniform and controlled narrow spots. The luminous efficacy of radiation (LER) was measured under various currents and a value of 165 lm/Watt was recorded. To our best knowledge, this is the first time that a high-resolution pixelated array can be demonstrated for display technology. We believe this technology shall be disruptive for future generation of light-emitting devices.

演講大綱:

High-brightness GaN-based emissive microdisplays are very attractive for new applications such as Augmented Reality. They can be fabricated with different approaches which are listed and described. They consist either of hybridizing a GaN-LED array on a CMOS circuit, or building a monolithic component on a single substrate. Using the hybridization approach, 2 types of 10-µm pixel pitch GaN microdisplay prototypes were developed: (1) directly driven, 300 x 252 pixels and (2) active-matrix, 873 x 500 pixels. Brightness as high as 1 x 10(power)6 and 1 x 10(power)7 cd/m² for blue and green arrays, respectively, were reached. For next generation GaN microdisplays, ultra-high resolution will be needed. To achieve this, we present a new fabrication approach which allows realization of MicroLED arrays with a pixel pitch of 3 µm.
