    Alexander Loesing is co-founder and CMO of ALLOS Semiconductors in Dresden, Germany. ALLOS is a specialist in GaN-on-Si epiwafer technologies for micro-LED applications. ALLOS has repeatedly demonstrated the industry's best GaN-on-Si crystal quality and emission uniformities on flat, CMOS line-ready epiwafers. This enables customers to achieve superior yields, high brightness and access to CMOS-grade fabrication facilities. In addition to licensing and technology services, ALLOS is the only company which supplies both 200 and 300 mm GaN-on-Si LED epiwafers to customers worldwide.

    Over years the industry has shown ever improving micro-LED demonstrators. With use cases becoming clear across all kinds of display applications and system-level challenges overcome, the focus now turns to the economic manufacturability of micro-LED. For this commercialization of micro-LEDs the achievement of high yield and low cost are key success factors. One, if not the most, promising path is to utilize the silicon semiconductor industry’s manufacturing excellence. At ALLOS we work with customers and partners to make this happen by supplying 200 and 300 mm GaN-on-Si epiwafers and epiwafer technologies which fulfil the acceptance criteria of the silicon semiconductor industry’s fabs.
