演講大綱
SiC device, wafer, and equipment market shows the highest growth among all compound semiconductors. The SiC device revenue is expected at $9.7B in 2028 ($3.5B in 2023) with growth propelled by power devices for automotive and industrial end-markets. The SiC epiwafer market should reach $2.2B in 2028 ($0.8B in 2023) with more units shipped while price-per-wafer decreases.
Such high device and epiwafer revenue growth are enabled by the collaboration between chipmakers and semiconductor equipment vendors, to improve SiC wafer processing yield. Hence, many equipment vendors need to either adapt their existing portfolio of Si processing tools or diversify the tool technology. These include critical technologies across ingot growth (PVT), ingot processing (slicing, thinning), epiwafer epitaxy, device processing (ion implantation, annealing, dry etch, dicing), metrology and test.
Via this expose, we elucidate the ever-changing SiC ecosystem, with a focus on equipment vendor revenue.
