演講大綱
3D-Micromac offers laser-based production solutions, which will increase yield & reduce production costs.
The first part of the speech gives an overview of how laser-based processes offer a new level of industrialization for µLED production steps:
For example, LIFT & line beam solutions set new standards for yield & productivity. UV lasers with interchangeable masks offer exceptional flexibility for transferring µLED dies of various sizes and aspect ratios from donor substrates to backplanes. Here, bonding processes are crucial for a successful transfer process. Therefore, the development & optimization of backplane materials must be conceived together with the laser process. A novel process chain, including LIFT & bonding on the backplane receiver, will be shown.
Part 2 of the speech discusses the advantages of laser technologies in cutting eyepieces for AR/VR devices as one application for µLED displays. These eyepieces, usually made of high-index glass, act as waveguide combiners.
