Characteristic

The developed infrared thermal image monitoring system is integrated infrared thermal image
sensor with environmental sensors for achieving prac􀆟cally use in commercial breeding poultry
houses. This monitoring system bases on the embedded system (Raspberry Pi) and integrates
with infrared image sensor, visible light camera and environmental sensors, etc. for achieving the
remote monitoring requirement. At present, this system was setup in Hsinchu White Meat
Chicken poultry house and Changhua Na􀆟ve Chicken poultry house for the stability test.
The informa􀆟on such like ambient temperature and humidity, wind speed, carbon dioxide
concentra􀆟on, ammonia concentra􀆟on and poultry body temperature can be collected in the
poultry house and transmi􀆩ed to the cloud server. Besides, the ac􀆟vity of the poultry can be
further evaluated by the collected informa􀆟on. The collected informa􀆟on can be used as a
reference for the poultry house environment control and the poultry health monitoring and
management. In the future, the developed system can effec􀆟vely save the labor costs, improve
the animal welfare and achieve the smart poultry houses.
