Characteristic

 

This inven􀆟on aims at providing an ac􀆟ve feedback control method for fitness machines via
user’s physical status, determined by heart rate and body temperature, by means of a video
capture unit with an infra-red sensor, and a central control unit. The heart rate of the user is
extracted by the video capture unit while the facial temperature from the infra-red sensor.
The calorie consump􀆟on is calculated by the heart rate and facial temperature in subs􀆟tu􀆟on
of conven􀆟onal means of contact measurements such as sports bracelet and handle on the
fitness machine, which enables the subject to train in a causal manner. This inven􀆟on also
includes an intelligent training mode in which the training intensity can be automa􀆟cally
adjusted according to the user’s calorie consump􀆟on preset by the user. This overcomes the
disadvantage of the current fitness machine which cannot interact with the user for automa􀆟c
control. Moreover, this inven􀆟on has a safety func􀆟on that it can 􀆟mely adjust or stop the
machine in case of the emergency situa􀆟on of user based on his/her heart rate and facial
temperature. This inven􀆟on is suitable for all kinds of exercise and fitness machine.
