Profile :

- Mr. Ohshima has been engaged in display industry for 35 years since he started his pioneering and extensive TFT LCD R&D in Seiko Epson Corporation after his graduation from the University of Tokyo. He is well known particularly as a pioneer of LTPS technology. Since 2002, he worked as CTO of Toppoly Corp. in Taiwan, CTO of TPO Corp. and General Director of Chimei-Innolux Corp. He joined Japan Display Inc. when the company was established in 2012. He has been serving as Executive Officer and Senior Fellow of Japan Display Inc. He received SID Fellow Award in 2000 and SID Special Recognition Award in 1995 due to his significant contributions to TFT and LTPS technologies.

- 1979年に東京大学工学部を卒業し、株式会社諏訪精工舎(現セイコーエプソン)に入社。同社で世界初のTFT LCDの研究開発に従事して以来、35年間にわたりディスプレイ技術や事業に携わる。特にLTPS技術の開発と事業化に注力した。2002年に台湾Toppoly CorpのCTOに就任、その後、TPO CorpでCTOを、Chimei-Innolux CorpでGeneral Directorを歴任した。2012年株式会社ジャパンディスプレイの設立時より参画し、2013年執行役員に就任、現在の執行役員シニアフェローに至る。1995年にSID Special Recognition Awardを、2000年にSID Fellow Awardを受賞。



- Display technology has been, and will be, the key enabler to create new devices and applications and to change our lives. Now mobile displays have to satisfy tough requirements for mobile in a good balance, which leads to a challenging complexity of advanced technologies and drives to the evolution towards “Integrated Live-Interface” as an input and output device for humans.

- ディスプレイ技術は新たなデバイスや応用を創造し我々の生活を変革してきた。今やモバイルディスプレイはモバイル固有の厳しい要求をバランスよく満たす必要があり、その結果、極めて高度な技術の集合体となっている。さらには、ディスプレイとしての出力機能と各種の入力機能を併せ持った「統合ライブインターフェース」に向かって進化を続けるだろう。

- Dr. Frank (Fu-Jen) Ko is currently the Chairman and CEO of E Ink Holdings Inc. Dr. Ko joined E Ink in December 2013 as the Chief Strategy Officer, including responsibility for company future growth strategies and management planning.

- Dr. Ko received his M.Sc and Ph.D. in Photonics from National Chiao-Tung University in 2000 and a B.Sc in Electro Physics in 1995. Dr. Ko joined Unipac (now AU Optronics) in year 2000 and had worked in several positions in R&D department and Business Unit. Dr. Ko was the General Manager of Television Business Group and VP of Technology and Strategic Planning office in AU Optronics.



- In recent years, ePaper has been successfully applied to a variety of new interface and applications, not only to help customers create unique products, but also transform traditional paper surface into smart and image changeable surface with uncompromised paper-like visual comfort and readability. Subverting the existing comprehension about display industry, and embracing the future of ePaper at the same time.

- Yi Tze Kuo is AVP and Head of AKT Display Sales &PSEs of Greater China region at Applied Materials, Inc., where he leads global sales operation for all of the company’s display products, and is responsible for Greater China Display business.

- Mr. Kuo joined the company in 1996 as a field service engineer, and went on to serve in various management roles in AKT.

- Mr. Kuo holds a BS in Mechanical Engineering from National Taiwan University and a Masters in Mechanical Engineering from Stanford University.

- Yi Tze Kuoは国立台湾大学で機械工学の学位を取得後、スタンフォード大学で機械工学の修士を取得。

- We are in a new era of displays that we are referring to as the “Advanced Display Era.” This new display era marked with new products such as (ie OLED TV/tablets/smart phones) are evolving rapidly. Over past couple of years a more fundamental technology transition has taken place, beginning in the mobile space- new requirements in high-end mobile has led to new materials introductions for resolution and power savings, OLED and touch- leading to the next wave of product growth in mobile: smaller screens but packed with more technology. Large area thin film solutions from Applied Materials for Backplane TFT and Encapsulation meet the challenges for OLED and advanced LCD displays.

- Hollis currently leads the Corning® Gorilla® Glass global sales and engineering teams out of Taipei, Taiwan. He joined Corning in 1989, as a manufacturing supervisor at the Fallbrook plant in Corning, N.Y. During his tenure at Fallbrook, he held various roles in quality engineering and quality systems until he joined Corning Asahi Video as a senior sales engineer in 1995. In 1998, Hollis was appointed product line manager, Corning Asahi Video Components.
In 2001, Hollis joined Specialty Materials as product line manager, Microlens, and was appointed commercial director, Specialty Materials, in 2003. In 2007, Hollis was named program manager, Project Mercury, where he led the adoption of Gorilla® Glass into the products’ first mobile device applications.
Hollis holds a bachelor’s degree in industrial distribution from Western Carolina University.

- Masayuki Miyamoto received the M.S. degree in mathematics from Osaka University in 1981. He joined Sharp Corporation in 1984 and has been leading the research and development of analog and mixed-signal LSI. He is currently an engineering director and the head of touch R&D team of System Device Business Unit, Electronic Components and Devices Company, Sharp Corporation. ISSCC papers on touch LSIs he coauthored were awarded ISSCC Demonstration Session Certificate of Recognition at ISSCC 2015 and 2016 consecutively.

- 1984年大阪大学大学院理学研究科数学専攻博士課程単位修得退学。
- 同年、シャープ株式会社入社後、アナログ・ミクストシグナルLSIの研究開発を先導。
現在、同社電子デバイスカンパニー システムデバイス事業部の上席主任技師として、
- ISSCC(2014, 2015)で発表したタッチ関連論文が展示部門認定証を2年連続受賞。
