With the rise of Generative AI (GAI) technology and its expanding applications, it’s becoming more important to consider how to integrate discriminative AI with GAI to advance smart manufacturing to the next level. For instance, new product development requires significant time and resource investment, making it difficult to meet real-time demands. Beyond relying on past experience, there's a need for innovation and novel process designs. However, human thinking has its limitations, and product or mechanism design depends on highly skilled and experienced talent. Given that talent cultivation is challenging, successful experiences are difficult to replicate, and skills are hard to pass down, there's a growing gap in professional expertise. In this lecture, Jason Lin will illustrate design process and generative application opportunities from three levels of product design perspective, and introduce domestic and international GAI and AI application cases from the R&D and experimental aspects as references for industry professionals.
